Les nouvelles concernant les incendies de for\u00eat au Canada en 2023 se sont r\u00e9pandues \u00e0 leur mani\u00e8re comme une tra\u00een\u00e9e de poudre. La fum\u00e9e des incendies de Qu\u00e9bec au d\u00e9but du mois de juin a fait la une des journaux alors qu'ils ont consid\u00e9rablement d\u00e9color\u00e9 le ciel de la ville de New York. L'ampleur des incendies et le bruit qui les entoure ont m\u00eame valu \u00e0 un public d\u00e9sign\u00e9 Entr\u00e9e Wikip\u00e9dia<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La source de d\u00e9tresse la plus r\u00e9cente a \u00e9t\u00e9 les incendies qui ont ravag\u00e9 certaines parties de la Colombie-Britannique, des Territoires du Nord-Ouest et du Yukon. Paul Llewellyn (pr\u00e9sident de l'\u00c9glise adventiste du septi\u00e8me jour au Canada) et Steve Matthews (PDG d'ADRA Canada) ont lancer un appel urgent \u00e0 la pri\u00e8re<\/a> in response to the devastation. In it, they said: \u201cLet us open our hearts and pray for divine intervention, strength, comfort, and resilience for those directly impacted by these fires and wisdom for those combating this disaster on the front lines.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steve Matthews further stated: \u201cUniting compassion and action, ADRA Canada stands to help ease the suffering of those escaping the wildfires, providing aid and support to those affected, showing that in times of crisis, humanity\u2019s strength shines brightest.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADRA Canada is activating a fundraising campaign to directly respond to the fires. Plans are in place for our National Programs Manager Ray Fankhauser to visit the sites of the fires in British Columbia and conduct a full and detailed needs assessment. The agency\u2019s communications team will be sharing updates alongside our ongoing response and any further developments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
